Thx Berlin. I've corrected it. Will syndicate this article into Fools Mountain pretty soon. Btw, writing this post has forced me into places like hudong.com 互动百科 (China's version of Wikipedia). I am rummaging around in Chinese language pages. Hoping my reading comprehension improves over time. Its pathetic right now, and I am envious of you, DJ, others ability on both languages.

Hi Charles :)
When you visit, you have to remember blogs like this one or FM and remember to take lots of pictures. You already know, a picture is worth a thousand words.

I would say Shaolin temple is one of the must see place in China. Although large parts (especially the lower levels) are clearly new/restoration, after the climb you'll discover many well preserved spiritual spots (like the meditation caves and tomb forrest).

I'd like to visit Wudang Shan, the taoist temple, some day.

Hi michael,

That's an interesting perspective.

It is true - ordinary Chinese peoples savings are being lent to prop up the consumption habits of the U.S. government.

But I would bet if there are better investment options for the Chinese government, they'd put money elsewhere. Japan's bet in the U.S. is not that much different from China's in amounts.

Ordinary Chinese citizens have tons of options with their savings too - buying homes, investing in stocks, and consuming everyday things. So it is not that they are forced to lend to the U.S., and therefore, I don't see the immorality. Also, there are more people wanting to work than there are jobs - so I can't agree with the tyranny characterization.

How can you not put morality on the fact that one nation's citizenry built on liberty is devouring the savings of another nation's citizenry built on tyranny. To feel that the free nation is deserving of free healthcare(for example) paid for by the toil of another is immoral in all respects.
